'Kay, my name is Matthew Santoro and I worked as an instructor for the Digital Literacy Project with the James Lyng High School.

Miriam: Can you describe your work with the Digital Literacy Project?

Matt:

Okay Um I first started working with the Digital Literacy Project when I made a short documentary film about it 2 years ago um, about Miriam Verburg and her beta project - what do you call it? And after that I taught a short class with James Lyng High School
 
Miriam: Tell me specifically about the workshop you conducted with youth from James Lyng.
 
Matt:

Okay um, (pauses) How can I word that, um, the workshop I taught with James Lyng was short I think it was 4 weeks and what we did was a crash course in video. Those kids had a little more experience because they had done a workshop with Kate before so it was basically a refresher course as far as production goes: Camera work, editing, story development. They were more hands-on this time they made the entire video themselves, with me just coaching them. And uh they did a short what do you call it PSA.
