Miriam Verburg is a web designer, coordinator of the Digital Literacy Project at Atwater Library and an MA student in Media studies at Concordia University. Through her work and study she enjoys finding ways to use creative technology for social change. During her spare time Miriam enjoys walking her dog, reading and making dinner with friends.

Kate Lavut has been making films since the age of 15, when she and 5 friends interviewed young people throughout Canada to see if generation X really existed. However, they never completed the film as the editor stole the footage and used it to get into film school. Throughout high school Kate continued to film and interview youth on the street for both YTV and Women’s Television Network.

Marlo Turner Ritchie is the Executive Director of A deux mains/ Head & Hands, an organization based in NDG, Montreal. Since 1970, Head & Hands has been working with and for youth and their children to create a diverse range of empowering, holistic and harm-reductive programs and services. Prior to her tenure at H&H Marlo worked for Project 10 in Montreal and has recently sat on the Board for COCo. She looks forward to working in news ways around youth and media. Digital Literacy Project
Matthew Santoro is a born and raised Montreal freelance producer and director. producing material ranging from documentaries to animation. During his University studies, Matthew got involved with New York-based human rights organization "Witness" which was a life-changing experience, making him realize how the power of film can inspire change in people.

Head & Hands
Jos is a Health Animator with Head & Hands, a nonprofit organization in NDG dedicated to youth empowerment. Coming from a women's studies and social justice background, she provides sexual health education at a grassroots level by working closely with youth and volunteers, coordinating the Sense Project (an alternative sex ed project for high school students) and working in the medical clinic at Head & Hands. She works to promote awareness, open dialogue and sex positivity.

Head and Hands
Currently a graduate student at York University's Masters of Education, Language, Culture and Teaching program, Christina worked at Head and Hands for two years developing a sustainable funding strategy for their peer-led sex education program. As a scholar, Christina's work focuses on witty, outrageous, and alternative children's books that seek to squash gender/sex/race/class/ability stereotypes.

W.O.R.D
Lynn Worrell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art from Concordia University. She has experience working with children and youth in schools and community settings. One of Lynn’s most recent projects was coordinating a Hip Hop literacy project for youth called W.O.R.D (Writing Our Rhymes Down) at James Lyng High school in 2008. She is a multimedia/time-based artist and is currently working on a body of work celebrating women in Hip Hop.

Neil is a Graduate of Concordia University, since 2007 He has worked as a coordinator of W.O.R.D Montreal. Following graduation he moved to Toronto to work on the set of "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" and plan some adventures abroad.

James Lyng High School
As community-learning coordinator at James Lyng High School Allannah has created a bond between her students school experience and their learning in the real world. She has led initiatives to bring parents back into their children's education, and to increase opportunities for creative activity through collaborations with Montreal's extensive creative scene.
